The number of food banks in the UK has increased by 94 per cent over the past five years while at the same time, more and more students are finding they are not immune to the national cost-of-living crisis.
In response to this growing problem, De Montfort Students’ Union took an idea from Queen’s University
in Northern Ireland and introduced the first free food pantry in England.
