Ex fashion designer opens up new afternoon teas boutique in Leicester

A Fashion designer who left her job during the covid lockdowns has launched a new luxury afternoon tea boutique in the heart of Leicester.

Pam Coratannai started a hamper business at the start of lockdown, catering to family friends and building a clientele with big companies such as Bentley and Lamborghini.

Now she has turned what was once a side hustle into opening Cocco and Delilah in Cank Street on Saturday, May 20.

She said: “I have all these ideas floating in my head and it’s nice to see it in action.

“I come from a family of business, so it is like second nature to me.”

Pam’s day job was as a fashion designer, and she has also got a qualification in business and comes from a creative background.

She said she has always loved afternoon tea and from the age of five loved playing with China tea sets at her grandmother’s house. Her dream now is to expand her new business and start a chain in other cities.

The name Cocco and Delilah has a sentimental meaning. Cocco comes from her baby rabbit that died at 12 weeks (about 3 months) and Delilah is her dog that has played such a huge part of her life, being there throughout her being severely ill just before lockdown.

Cocco and Delilah, which is still hiring for serving staff, is also a cocktail bar, serving theatrical cocktails, cake, and separate set menus such as a lunch menu, all within an affordable price range.
