An independent village store in Great Glen, Leicestershire, was remaining closed yesterday(MON, Oct 10) while renovations were undertaken to the shop and adjoining Post Office counters.
Great Glen Post Office was due to stay shut for the day and re-open today (TUES), boasting the completed refurbishment.

Business owner Mahesh Odedra said: “After conducting surveys and speaking to customers we are excited to undertake the redevelopment that will allow us to extend our opening hours, revamp the greeting cards and gift selection, and increase space for our deli and food to go.
“This re-development of the store will also help us to increase our efficiency to meet with rising costs that threatens small independent businesses.”
The revamp allows the store to partner up with the multinational retailer Spar which allows for a wider range of independent brands and offering a further choice for competitive shopping.
