Dozens of elderly residents swapped their old slippers for a safer pair as part of a new Leicestershire County Council scheme to reduce falls in the home across the county.
Last week, the authority held a slipper exchange at Coalville Library.
This gave residents the chance to get their hands on a brand new pair of safe slippers after they handed in their tatty old pairs.
It is estimated that each year in Leicestershire, falls cost the NHS approximately £23m with one in there people aged over 65 falling every year.
60 people came to the event in Coalville.
The next event will be held at 11.30am on Wednesday, April 25 at the Wykin Social Club, Hinckley.
