SYLVIA to be hosted at The Guildhall

By Olivia Mumby

Leicester’s Guildhall will this February play host to SYLVIA, a production about the famous suffragette and artist, Sylvia Pankhurst.

This one-night-only one-woman show has been called ‘Fabulous – a perfect combination of words and pictures.’

It features 250 historical slides, including paintings done by Ms Pankhurst herself, which create the background of the play.

The portrait of Leicester suffragette Alice Hawkins which is displayed in the Leicester museum was painted by Ms Pankhurst.

The play will take place at the Guildhall on February 3 at 7:30pm and tickets cost £9.
