A DMU Contour Fashion student is hoping to gain tips for her final project after getting a placement at swimwear giant, Heidi Klein.
Jade Woodward, a second year Contour Fashion student, will be going to work with Heidi Klein for two weeks this summer.
She said she was really looking forward to the internship: “We only get six weeks in the second year to spend on swimwear as a project so this will help me gain a further insight into how the swimwear industry works.”
Heidi Klein is the UK’s leading luxury swimwear and beachwear brand and is well known for its effortlessly chic and unmistakably beautiful resort wear and accessories.
Contour Fashion at DMU is widely known at the Contour Catwalk Show, bringing more and more people to Leicester each year. Furthermore the course is widely regarded in the industry as one of the best in the world.
Miss Woodward loves her course at DMU and is excited at being able to complete her final collection next year: “During my three year course in Contour Fashion our tutors recommend doing a placement over the summer.
“This is so we can gain insight into the industry and also further our understanding in the aspects of the course that we enjoy. This will also confirm for me what I want to work on for my final collection next year.”
In addition to this,#DMUglobal is fully integrated into the course via overseas trips and international study.
“I cannot wait to work with Heidi Klein,” added Miss Woodward. “Working in the industry will give me first hand experience of what it is going to be like when I get a job.
“I am extremely thankful for the experience, and for DMU for giving me the skills and knowledge to help me do what I want.”
