Leicesterval, the indie, weekend-long festival, returns next month at Leicester’s Firebug bar featuring live music through Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening.
The indie festival is returning on the weekend of Saturday, February 28, from 2pm and running until the next day, brought to Leicester by Sweeping the Nation.
The event established in 2012, formerly an all-day event, is returning in 2026 as a weekend-long affair following last year’s weekender debut.
Steven Tyers, event promoter and organiser, added:” Although this year is the second weekender, it’s the 13th such event in all.”
From 2pm on the Saturday, he said, the venue will be “headlined by veterans of various stripes,” with live music from artists from across the country, including Jetstream Pony, Junk Whale and Leicester’s own 80s-established band Yeah Yeah Noh.
Kicking off at 3pm on the Sunday, the weekend continues with performances from bands such as Loose Articles, a feminist punk band from Manchester and openers of Foo Fighters’ Manchester gig last year.
Tyers said: “From my one experience of their live show to date, they’re a burst of energy and a lot of fun.”
The weekend will draw to a close with an indie-pop disco from 8.45pm on Sunday.
Tyers concluded: “Having pulled off a popular weekend full of great sets last year, my big hope is more of the same.”
Tickets for the event are available on the Wegottickets website, at £27.50 for the weekend or £17.60 for Saturday and £13.20 for Sunday.
