Planning permission has been granted for a new dog grooming salon at 2 Church Gate, Kegworth, following a retrospective application to change the former post office/shop to a Sui Generis use.
The salon, operated by Inga Bikova, will be allowed to open Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 5.30pm, and Saturdays from 9.30am to 2.30pm, ensuring the development protects the residential amenities of the area.
The approval was confirmed by North West Leicestershire District Council on December 5. A council spokesperson said: “The application has been assessed in line with national planning guidance. By granting permission, we have secured a sustainable form of development while ensuring minimal impact on neighbours.”
The permission does not require a Biodiversity Gain Plan, as the development is considered below the statutory thresholds affecting habitats.
Work can now proceed in accordance with the approved plans submitted in August 2025.
