A first-year journalism student at De Montfort University has launched his own radio show, called Across the Pitch, in term one alongside one of his classmate.
Arvind Kalsi, 20, from Leicester, had thought about running his own radio show for a very long time, and finally made his dreams come alive.
“In the future I want to become a presenter and want to keep doing things like this,” he said.

Arvind has produced four radio show episodes with his friend, Augustine Obiozor, who he met in their first week at university at a training session for the student radio station Demon FM.
“We talk about the Premier League and Champions League games, and we often have a lot of debates as we support different clubs,” added Arvind.
“I support Liverpool and he supports Manchester City, so there have been a few heated debates but it’s boring if two people agree with everything all the time.”
Augustine, also 18 and a journalist student at De Montfort University, has been enjoying this collaboration with Arvind thus far.
“I love talking about football, and this podcast has let me be myself here,” he stated.
“It has given me freedom, releases my stress at times, and I honestly look forward to doing it each day.”
Across the Pitch is live between 2pm and 4pm every Thursday, preventing clashes with their university studies.
Demon FM gives all students the opportunity to utilise their radio station room at any time for as little as £7 a year.
