The festive season is about to begin as Leicester gets ready for its annual Christmas lights switch-on taking place on Wednesday(NOV17).
The free event will take place in Humberstone Gate, with live entertainment from 5pm before the main switch-on at 6.30pm.
Visitors can expect the Christmas tree in Town Hall Square and lights illuminating Gallowtree Gate, Market Street and other key shopping areas.
The celebration will mark the start of Leicester’s festive attractions, including the Christmas market and ice rink which will be opening later in the month.
