Outbreak festival adds Glassjaw, Terror, XweaponX and more to 2025 line-up

Outbreak festival has announced a new wave of bands who will take to the barrierless stage at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester and Victoria Park in London from June 13 – 15 with Knocked Loose, Turnstile, Slowdive and Alex G headlining.

New additions to the line-up include Knocked Loose offshoot XweaponX, Terror, Pain of Truth, Contention, Jivebomb and post-hardcore veterans Glassjaw performing Worship & Tribute and Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence in full.

“This is the fastest selling Outbreak of all time,” a spokesperson for the festival said. “Less than 30% of tickets remain for Manchester.”

For the first time in the festival’s history, the show will take place in London with Baltimore hardcore quintet Turnstile headlining as a London exclusive, replacing the extra day of music in Manchester that the festival has previously held.

Outbreak has had one hell of an evolution since its launch in 2011 – what was once solely a hardcore festival now also showcases an array of different genres such as hip-hop, shoegaze, emo and post-hardcore alongside the usual hardcore punk and metalcore which the festival is best known for.

Founded by 14-year-old Jordan Coupland and Lee Fellows, the festival used to take place in much smaller venues in the north such as the 1,600-capacity Canal Mills in Leeds, eventually transferring to the 10,000-capacity Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester, and including London’s Victoria Park which holds up to 5,000 people.

For some of the bands who come from DIY hardcore backgrounds, this year’s Outbreak will mark their first time playing in the UK – this includes XweaponX, God’s Hate and Extinguish.

Outbreak festival will take place at Victoria Park in London on June 13 and Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester on June 15 and 16. For more information and to buy tickets, visit outbreak-fest.co.uk/manchester or outbreak-fest.co.uk/london.
