Review by William Delahunty
Leicester is a place of great multicultural pride, and nothing embodies that pride more than its variety and celebration of food.

Having a large southeast Asian community, the question of which restaurant serves the best, most authentic, Indian food is a highly debated topic amongst fellow foodies.
But fear not; I have the answer.
…Not the answer to that question but perhaps to a better question.
The Broadway Bar and Grill located in the northern portion of Leicester city is without a doubt the most ‘Leicester’ dining experience.
The venue is best described as a desi sports-pub with a huge variety of dishes ranging from the mildest of kormas to the fieriest of vindaloos, making it a really accessible dining spot for those who have smaller spice tolerances who still want a taste of that eastern cuisine.
What makes this place so special is the cross between the traditional English pub and a quality Indian restaurant.
A pub atmosphere and classic decor, crossed with the beautiful smells and visuals of hot spiced bowls of food, really works wonders on the senses.
The sound of a football match on the many wall-mounted TVs and the shine of metallic plates and bowls is a uniquely Anglo-Indian experience.

The many staff were keen to show enthusiasm for the combination of cultures and how important it is to them to work in a place based on that principle.
The menu itself seems to be carefully designed with inclusion and sharing in mind. Each main can easily be shared into smaller portions with the use of many small plates being provided with each course.
As well as that, the inclusion of many shared platters and the pickle tray with poppadoms helps really push that same narrative.
For me, I think the combination of cultures and the emphasis on sharing and variety is such a special combination that really does exemplify the best of living in a thriving multicultural city.
Overall, I cannot rate this experience highly enough, the staff were very accommodating, the food was flavourful, and the whole time there was very enjoyable.
I encourage everyone to go out and celebrate the joys of living in Leicester.
