The Leicester Christmas market has opened in the town centre this month.
Not only are there many stalls open from local businesses selling their goods, but there is already a Ferris Wheel running, with ice skating yet to arrive in the city.

The market started on November 14 and will run until Sunday, December 29.
Events such as Christmas markets, or light switch-ons are a wonderful way of uniting a community and getting into the spirit surrounded by people from all diverse backgrounds.
One of the vendors, Molly, is selling a Christmas staple, cheese.
“This is our first year selling in Leicester,” said Molly, “but I have been taking my stock to Christmas markets for four years now.”
The stand had a variety of cheeses, ranging from mild to strong flavours and scents.
“Our best seller today has been the Italiano. It’s a new addition this year, but overall, it’s usually a cheese called Old Hag,” she added.
Looking around the stall, there are multiple gift ideas for a cheese-loving friend or relative.
“For Christmas, I’d recommend buying a selection box, it contains four cheeses and it’s a great way of sharing, as it has a variety of flavours,” said Molly.
If cheese is not your thing, do not worry, as there are many different stalls such as jewellery and blankets.
There is also a plethora of takeaway food stands serving Christmas meals, doughnuts, and hot drinks.
This season is the perfect time to connect with family and friends, so go and have a walk around the market with your loved ones.
If you would like to visit the market, it is located at Gallowtree Gate, Leicester, LE1 1DA.
