Kasabian have announced a hometown gig at Victoria Park, Leicester.
Coming 10 years after their first ever performance in Victoria Park, and eight years after their celebration gig for Leicester City winning the football Premier League, it feels like it has come at just the right time, given the Foxes have just been promoted into the top tier again.
Rufus Henderson, a resident in the area, said: “They are a local Leicester band and great performers, always bring energy to their gigs they perform at.
“I saw them perform for the first time in 2016 when Leicester won the football. They were performing on Vicky Park, and they were wicked!!
“I enjoy the buzz around festivals, especially festivals for bands doing hometown gigs, it’s always more exciting somehow.”
Kasabian’s performance this time is to introduce their new album Happenings, which is set to release on June 14.
The band will be playing the hometown gig, which has been named Summer Solstice Two, on Saturday, July 6, with the incredible supporting act of The Kaiser Chiefs.
