Leicester’s Walnut Street Puregym held one of its first deadlift competitions yesterday(TUE,JUNE4) evening.
The 1RM (one rep maximum) barbell deadlift competition entailed an evening of supportive but competitive gym culture, with the winners getting prizes.
The mystery prizes were due to be provided to the best male lifter and best female lifter.
The winning lifts were based on the individual’s bodyweight and the weight lifted, to make it completely fair for all weight classes.
The evening of fun started with weigh-ins, involving all participants stepping on a scale so weight classes could be assigned.
