It will include an award ceremony for student leaders and student volunteers who have worked really hard throughout the academic year to better the student experience at DMU.

This year, Ellen Beardsmore, 38, is a student opportunities coordinator who took the initiative to lead on the DSU Celebrates event.

She said:”It’s just a really nice way to celebrate the achievements of students.”

She said she had also made some changes to make it bigger and better event in response to feedback from the student body, and additional tickets had to be released by the DSU after the initial release sold out.

Students have nominated other students or put themselves forward for an award.

Nominations will then be shortlisted by a panel and also the Opportunities team and the Voice team.

Aproximately 150 students will be attending this event, along with DMU and DSU staff.
