Demon FM radio’s new station manager has said she has big plans for the next year as the station prepares for the summer break.
The De Montfort University (DMU) radio station has been a pillar of uni life around the campus, and has people sign up to be hosts of their own radio show.
“I’m hoping to have a big impact on Demon FM,” said 21-year-old Angel Garvey-Henderson, who has a weekly show on Demon FM and will be the next station manager.

Angel, who is a Performing Arts student at DMU, said she had a passion for radio and was instantly attracted to Demon FM when she first started university.
“A couple of the current committee members spoke to me and said it would be really good,” said Angel, who only first thought about becoming station manager for Demon FM in January.
Angel said that one of the plans for next year is for their radio hosts to be able to conduct interviews with the wider community in Leicester.
“Looking for small local artists who don’t always get the chance to be heard or to be seen,” said Angel, as well as looking for small businesses and charities from around Leicester.
Angel said that it would help students to build a portfolio of content that they can use for future job opportunities in radio.
