A cocktail bar in the centre of Leicester has recently welcomed a new menu and opened a cosy upstairs drinking area.

One of the bartenders at ‘Toots and Maytals’, Ezra Powell, said its upstairs area was a place to go if people “walk in as a big group.”
He added that, as the downstairs area itself is quite small, it gives larger groups of people to drink with them and have fun.
Situated at the top of Highcross Street, ‘Toots and Maytals’ has also recently welcomed a second menu, which launched on Monday of last week, featuring cocktails such as a Bacon Maple Old Fashioned and a Sorrel Rum Punch.
Mr Powell added: “We are planning on putting on themed evenings, such as an anime themed night which will be happening soon.”
This will give customers the opportunity to not only talk about their shared interests but will also give people a chance to get to know the bartenders. As Mr Powell explained, both he and his co-worker are anime fanatics.
The pair are planning on expanding the nature of their venue from being just a cocktail bar by introducing DJs to play music from the 90s and the 2000s as well as sets from local artists as we move closer to the Christmas period.
