Flippin’ good: the race is on

A traditional Pancake Race was held on Castle Street in Hinckley challenging competitors to run uphill and flip their pancake over a couple of times while crossing lines painted on the route.

Rachel Gillham, IH Lead Teacher for the unit for children with special needs at Westfield Junior School, said: “We had 25 from Westfield Junior School take part this year.

“Every participant is the winner, but we also had winners in categories such us best fancy dress, children winner and adult winner.

“Children enjoyed the event.”

In 2022, competitions were focused on both children and adults with disabilities, however, anyone can take part later on, after them.
