DUG-UP: Construction has begun outside the Foxes Fanstore at the King Power Stadium

Construction has begun at the King Power Stadium in preparation for the erection of the Vichai Srivvaddhanaprabha statue.

The statue will sit outside the Leicester City fanstore and will welcome all supporters who arrive to the ground from Raw Dykes Road.

The statue is set to be unveiled in April later this year and construction started at the beginning of this month.

Fans have been calling for a statue to be built in the late chairman’s honour since the tragic helicopter accident back in 2018.

Susan Whelan, Leicester City Chief Executive, said: “Khun Vichai’s contribution to this club and this city – his vision, his generosity, and his belief in people – are immortalised in the memory of every person touched by our story.

“The statue will be a place for people to remember, to celebrate his life and to share those stories for generations to come.”
