Warnings issued for Leicestershire as Storm Eunice approaches

By Ben Stevens

Weather warnings have already been issued for the Leicestershire area for later this week due to the increased threat of very strong winds and heavy rain.

According to the Met Office, Storm Eunice will hit the country on Friday, bringing winds in excess of 70mph and as a result a yellow weather warning has been issued for vast swathes of the country.

The Met Office say the warning may have to be upgraded in the coming days as the storm approaches and forecast confidence increases.

Storm Dudley will precede Storm Eunice earlier this week but it is expected that this will impact areas further north and is less of a concern to Leicestershire.
