A leading player has urged team-mates in De Montfort University Women’s Football Club to work on improving their bonding in a bid to halt a disappointing string of losses so far this season.
First team forward Alicia King said: “I think the reason we’re losing so often is because we haven’t fully connected as a team.”
The team meets four times a week to train, socialise, and do weekly fitness sessions.
Alicia said: “We need to work on different strengths and weaknesses of the team, and make sure everyone knows what they are doing and how to play their position properly.
“We need to implement team bonding exercises so that people trust each other and are comfortable with their teammates.”
