The Reading Agency and Specsavers have partnered to prepare for World Book Night next month.
Two sponsors of Leicestershire Cares ‘The Reading Agency’ and ‘Specsavers’ have organised a celebration for World Book Night’s 10th anniversary.

Helen Treadwell, education development officer at Leicestershire Cares, who put a bid in for the books and won, said: “The free books will go to the young people on their projects and the remaining will go to schools.”
Leicestershire Cares have an in-house project called ‘Go for Reading’ which partners with business volunteers with reluctant readers in Leicester.
During the weekly activities they build relationships and help to improve their skills and confidence in reading.
‘Go for Reading’ will also deliver books to schools across Leicester and Leicestershire but has currently been placed on hold due to the pandemic
Helen Treadwell said: “The plan is to have a celebration and talk about the book which is titled ‘I will not be erased’. The idea is to invite some of the young people who received the book to come and talk about it.”
