De Montfort University is encouraging students to attend an online session raising awareness about the issue and risks of female genital mutilation on Tuesday March 23, as part of the Festival of Teaching.
The conference aims to allow those attending to safely discuss and challenge FGM practice, and ensure that participants will be able to recognise the risk signs of FGM.
Event holders hope that discussing the sensitive topic of female genital mutilation will allow meaningful conversations to be held between families and various communities.
The event is available for students, academics and members of the public.
Bookings will close one hour before the beginning of the event.
