Record snowfall causes problems with Coronavirus testing in Leicester

By Kira Gibson

Testing facilities in Leicester on Sunday (JAN24) were forced to close due to the adverse weather conditions.

The Jubilee Square testing site was closed for the majority of the day after the record snowfall and didn’t reopen until the following day.

Once reopened, the site offered significantly fewer tests. Originally offering more than 300, the site had capacity for 19 tests after reopening and made slots available until 1pm. The Victoria Park Car Park testing facility had still not reopened by this morning (TUE JAN26).
