Leicester Riders’ BBL season postponed until further notice

Leicester Riders’ BBL season has been postponed ‘until further notice’ due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) epidemic with the rest of this season’s action cast into doubt.

This past weekend, Riders’ Women’s team who take part in the WBBL won their third straight Trophy title in Birmingham but this proved to be the last action for a Leicester based team as the decision was made on Tuesday (MAR17) to postpone it.

This has allowed Riders’ players Kyron Cartwright and Namon Wright, both from the United States, to head home before any further measures are implemented.

As a result Glasgow Rocks who currently lead the standings called for the league to hand them the title due to their win ratio which other teams have since shunned on social media.
