Today (MAR19) Leicester Mayor Peter Soulsby announced in a monthly council meeting that he has a plan that will aim to protect those most vulnerable against the Coronavirus.
Cllr Soulsby has vowed to make use of the hardship fund which currently sits at £27m and has plans to increase this fund as and when needed to help those at most risk.
On top of this, the pursuit of council tax arrears will be stopped and no evictions will take place at this time.
Cllr Soulsby concluding the meeting by stating that “in these very difficult circumstances, Leicester will be at its best.”
