Countesthorpe Leysland Community College is seeking support from parents and local residents in its attempts to build a new building on the campus.
The school, located six-and-a-half miles south of Leicester city centre, teaches pupils aged between 11 and 18 and was rated ‘Inadequate’ by Ofsted last year.
“Over the last few months, we have been involved in meetings with our MP, Alberto Costa, the Department for Education and the Blaby District Council to develop a revised planning application,” the school said in a statement.
The application is now under consideration and support from parents and locals will help to strengthen the cause.
