Leicester Tigers welcomed ex Fijian international player Nemani Nadolo, as well as Georgian international Shalva Mamukashvili to Welford Road yesterday (March 2) in a double signing ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Welford Road has become home for the two new signings this month

Fans can look forward to Nadolo, the 6ft5 winger/centre using his blistering pace to help the team in their efforts to climb the Premiership.

He has joined Tigers from French side Montpellier, where he boasted an impressive record of 53 tries in 68 games.

In a tweet posted by Leicester Tigers, Nadolo is quoted: “Tigers is everything I’m looking for in a club… family first and the vision they have moving forward is something I wanted to be a part of.”

The 32-year-old outside back has reportedly signed a 2-year deal in the latest saga of his career that has taken him from the Japanese Green Rockets, New Zealand team Crusaders, as well as his former side Montpellier.

Tigers also signed 29-year-old Shalva Mamukashvili yesterday, who looks to bring his hard-scrummaging style of play to the hooker position in next season’s forward pack.

The Georgian international has made 68 appearances for his country, scoring a total of 30 points so far, and has played for clubs such as Sale Sharks, Glasgow Warriors and French sides Montpellier and Toulon.

In Leicester Tigers’ tweet announcing his signing, they quote Mamukashvili saying: “I will give my one-hundred percent on the field and I will put my body on the line for the club.”

The two signings will assist the squad in their hopes for a successful campaign next season, after a disappointing past two years.

Rutendo Ranjisi, a second year Accounting and Finance student at DMU, said: “Both of them are great signings and should hopefully strengthen the squad enough so that we can compete at the top of the premiership next season.”
