The Western pub set to change management after 13 years

by Samuel Gill

Leicestershire-based pub company Steamin’ Billy will leave The Western after 13 years and hand the keys back to owners Everards.

The pub, which is based in Leicester’s West End, sits just outside DMU campus and has made a niche for itself by hosting ‘Upstairs at the Western’, a venue which hosts theatre, comedy shows and gigs as the first pub theatre in Leicester.

Steamin’ Billy also run The Parcel Yard adjacent to Leicester Train Station and now Everards will look for a new landlord for when The Western shuts in mid-May, leaving the popular establishment in limbo.
