Leicestershire fire and rescue service is urging residents of the city to check their smoke alarms or face the disastrous consequences.
The resident of this house didn’t have a working smoke alarm and faced the severe consequences of a fire that broke out in the house.
Smoke alarms are often forgotten about but checking yours today could save a life.
Checking your alarm is quick and easy and may only require a new pair of batteries.
One alarm isn’t enough, the London Fire Brigade recommends people install multiple alarms around the house, with all of them complying to the current British standards or European safety mark which shows that they are approved and safe.
