Baroness Doreen Lawrence’s four year tenure as DMU Chancellor is set to end shortly with a massive legacy left on the campus in that time.
Lawrence has held the role since 2016 and has played an active role in meeting students and making change. None more so than the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre in which she had a key role.
The centre aims to drive forward conversations that will shape and influence how we think about race and social justice.
Interim Vice Chancellor, Andy Collop paid tribute to the departing chancellor: “We thank her for taking on this role and sharing her passion and experience to help support our aims to be a positive force for good for our student and staff, our city and beyond.”
