DMUFC to hold charity football tournament

By Erik Dawson

De Montfort University football society will be hosting a charity football tournament on Saturday, February 8.

DMUFC will host the annual event in the aid of the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust, a charity which raises money for sudden arrhythmic death syndrome, a condition effecting around 500 people, where someone dies suddenly following a cardiac arrest and no obvious cause can be found.

There will be a separate male and female tournament for any teams that want to be involved.

Groups of players can sign up through the tournament’s Facebook group.

The fun will carry on into the night, with the De Montfort Students’ Union hosting the Goals afterparty from 9pm until 2.30am.

Tickets are available through the Students’ Union website as well as on the Facebook group.
