The annual event, supported by BBC Radio 1 and Global, saw the likes of Scott Mills and Anthony Gay presenting the awards to aspiring student presenters, podcasters and reporters.

DemonFM was awarded Bronze for the ReelWorld Best Station Sound. Station sound relates to all the elements that go into production. The category judges considered how aspects such as jingles, bespoke beds, adverts and how the presentation off-air compliments on-air, came together to create a distinct station sound.

Dafydd Evans, Station Manager for DemonFM, said: ‘I didn’t expect to win, our station sound is something I do because I like doing it, not because I think I’m great at it. So it was quite nice to be recognised for something I enjoy doing.’

Topical discussion podcast ‘Amongst Other Things’ was shortlisted for Best Podcast, supported by BBC Sounds.

Beatriz Ferreira, who hosts the show alongside Isobel Rix, said: ‘It was a great opportunity for us to get the podcast out there more. I am so proud to have been in the running during our first year doing this.

‘The SRA’s is a wonderful night of celebrating what the best future radio has to offer.’
