Great American Circus comes to Hinckley

By Finn Moore

Uncle Sam’s Great American Circus has returned to Hinckley once more.

The circus has been coming to Hinckley for many years and returned to Leicester Road in Hinckley on Wednesday(MAR20), where they will stay until the March 24.

The circus features different types of performers, including animals and trapeze acts.

circusNew for 2019 is a Mary Poppins-esque act showing umbrella tricks at the roof of the Big Top.

Another act is called The Thunderball Riders, where motorbikes speed around a metal globe at speeds of 60 miles per hour.

Plenty more acts will engage with the audience in order to make the experience feel like a true American circus.

Jack Taplin, 18, went to the circus when he was younger and is now taking his brother for the first time: “I think it is a great experience for the people of Hinckley as we don’t have much entertainment and this offers something a bit different for people to do.”

Tickets are bought on the door and cost £9.50 for children and £10 for adults. Shows last from 5:00pm-7:30pm on Wednesday to Friday, 2:30pm-6pm on Saturday and 1:30pm-4.30pm on Sunday.

Group tickets and more information can be found on Uncle Sam’s Great American Circus page on Facebook.
