Cathedral Gardens to light up Leicester skies this Christmas

By Conor de Smith

The Cathedral Gardens in Leicester will light up the city skies when its Christmas in the Gardens gets underway next week.

The event, which takes runs from Thursday, December 13, to Saturday 22, will be free to the public and will be open between 5pm and 10pm each night.

BID Leicester and St Martins House are running the unique installation which will include a giant, four-metre inflatable sphere.

The sphere will glow with colours, imagery, and animated faces made by a face-recognition camera booth on the site. The public can see their face lit up on the structure by striking a pose in the booth.

Christmas in the Gardens has been produced by Big Difference Company and will be the centrepiece of Cathedral Gardens this Christmas.
