Bonfire and firework display this Saturday

By Matthew Chandler

The official celebration of Bonfire Night in Leicester will take place at Abbey Park this Saturday, November 3.

The bonfire and firework display, which will be the biggest throughout the city, will began at 5pm and last until 9pm, with this year’s theme being ‘Saturday Night Fever’.

A quieter fireworks show will also be open to the younger audience, with a funfair and plenty of hot food stands found on the site as well.

Tickets bought in advance will cost £6 for adults and £4 for concessions and under-16s, while those bought on the day of the event will be priced at £8 for adults and £5.50 for concessions and under-16s.

There will be free bike parks on site, but parking in Abbey Park, Abbey Park Road, St Margaret’s Pastures car park or the surrounding areas will be prohibited.

Fireworks, sparklers, alcohol or dogs (except assistance dogs) will also not be allowed to be brought in, to make this as safe an event as possible.

Advance tickets can still be purchased in person until 5pm on Saturday from Visit Leicester or by ringing De Montfort Hall Box Office at 0116 233 3111.
