Sam French, a representative for Highcross shopping centre, said: “We want to position Highcross as an integral part of the community and wider town centre events on the traditional Christmas lights switch on night.”

Ballerinas will attempt to recreate captivating scenes from Tchaiskovsky’s famous Swan Lake Ballet, and winged dancers will also take centre stage wearing lit-up costumes.

Sam added: “The Swan Lake performances are set to be spectacular and the snow lion is worth having a selfie with!”

There will also be an opportunity to see stilt walkers, including the Ice Prince and Princess, the Ice Queen and Snow Cats, complete with animatronic puppetry.

The event promises a festive atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy.
