Armed robbers target cash delivery in Measham

Three armed men in balaclavas robbed two people who were delivering cash to a store in Measham earlier this morning.

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery, which took place in High Street, Measham.


The incident happened shortly after 6.20am when cash was being delivered to a store.

Three men approached the two victims and threatened them with weapons before making off with a quantity of money.

The victims sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

The offenders ran off in the direction of Tamworth Road.

A vehicle believed to have been used in the incident has been recovered.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of High Street and Tamworth Road between 6.00am and 6.30am this morning.

Detective Sergeant Mark Beniston, who is investigating the incident, said:

“I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw the incident take place, the suspects loitering before the incident or them making off from the scene.

“If you were in the Tamworth Road area and saw a group of three men running off, or getting into a vehicle, please call and speak to us. Maybe you saw a vehicle waiting in the area? What you saw may not have seemed significant to you at the time but it could prove incredibly useful to our investigation.”

As well as the balaclavas, the men were also described as wearing dark clothing.
