The owners of Delilah Fine Foods are celebrating after being announced as finalists in the Farm Shop & Deli Awards 2017.
Nik Tootley and Sangita Tryner opened up a new branch in Leicester last year after 11 years of success in Nottingham.
“This nomination feels like a validation of what we are doing is working and that people appreciate our work,” said Nik.
After receiving a heritage grant from the council, the pair managed to transform the former Irish Bank in St Martins into a deli.
They say the venue was what one of the factors that brought them to Leicester.
“Our branch in Nottingham is also located in an old bank and when this venue opened up in Leicester it felt like it was meant for us,” said Nik.
Sangita added: “I guess you can say destiny brought us here.”
Delilah Fine Foods has a high-quality food bar and café and most of their dis
hes are made from products they sell in their deli so you can recreate their food at home.
Nik said: “Our menu is broad, and our specials boards change daily and everything is made with ingredients and products from our deli.”
In addition to this, they also sell custom made hampers filled with products you can get from the deli.
The winner of the award will be announced live at the Farm Shop & Deli Show on the 24th of April at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
