Drake, a well-known Canadian rapper, was due to attend an after party at a Leicester nightclub but left fans disappointed when he had to cancel his appearance due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.

Club Republic in Leicester’s city centre was the venue where Drake was due to host his official after party after performing in Birmingham on February 23rd (2017), on his The Boy Meets World Tour.

In a statement released on Facebook by the club at 21:15pm, Club Republic said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we are extremely disappointed to announce that tonight’s event “Drake’s Official Afterparty” has been cancelled.

“We have been informed this evening Drake can no longer fulfil the booking because of matters out of his control.

“We pride ourselves on bringing some of the world’s biggest artists to Club Republic.

“As we are sure you can appreciate we are extremely frustrated that after working closely with his management and the event organiser we have not been able to bring you this event.

“The artist was 100% confirmed and we have only just been informed of the artist’s change of plans.”

People wanting to attend the event paid in advance with prices for tickets to the event ranging from £40 all the way up to £1000 if you wanted to get a VIP table.

The club have said that all ticket holders will receive a full refund for the event.
