The public are being asked to come forward with any information in relation to an aggravated burglary which took place recently in Loughborough.

Leicestershire Police are asking witnesses whether they saw five men acting suspiciously or a red Audi around 9.25 pm in the Cotswold Close area on Wednesday November 23, as the men forced their way into a property and pushed the elderly occupant over, before stealing a large quantity of jewellery.

Even though the victim’s relative attended the property during the incident, the suspects assaulted him before leaving in the red Audi.

A police spokesman said: “The victims sustained minor injuries, with the elderly occupant eventually being discharged after treatment at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

“If there’s anyone who can help with any aspect of our investigation then please get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Balvinder Mahal on 101, quoting crime number 383109.
