A disabled woman has been left deeply upset after an access ramp was stolen from outside her home in Leicester.

The ramp is folded up and left outside when it is not being used and was stolen from Handley Street.

The crime took place sometime between 9pm on Thursday 3 November and 9am on Friday 4 November.

Leicestershire Police said: “This was a callous crime and the person responsible knew exactly what they were stealing and did so with no regard for the victim.”

The victim who was left paralysed after a collision is deeply upset as she is now having to use a homemade wooden ramp which Leicestershire Police have described as ‘unsuitable’.

The police are asking anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the ramp is urged to contact the police on 7659 or 101 and quote crime number 355083.
