By Joel Wood

Encores were heard at Manhattan 34, on January 30 after DMU student, Johnny Richardson, performed his latest EP ‘MADE’.

The 22-year-old. 3rd year played in front of 40 people in an intimate act where new releases ‘Made A Move’, ‘I Wanted You’, ‘Get Out Of My Head’ and ‘Girl That Got Away’ with the inclusion of some familiar covers were played.

Johnny said: “I’m very pleased with how the night went. I would like to say thank you to everyone who came to the event and that this is only the start for my music career.”

The young musician has released his music online as well as performing at similar live events to promote his new work.

He added: “I’m planning on sharing my music with record labels, radio stations and blog websites to attempt to get more exposure hopefully getting to the end goal of signing a deal with a record label.”

He also shared where he is planning on performing in the near future, he stated: “I’m always finding it hard to find gigs around Leicester as the open mic scene is pretty much non-existent.

Untitled“However, I will be gigging a lot more in London and Surrey within the coming months, so stay tuned.”

Rhys Rowlands, 19, who attended the
performance, said: “I really enjoyed the gig tonight. Johnny’s EP is a credit to the work he has put into it.

“I hope a lot more people come and see his shows and enjoy it as much as the crowd did this evening.”
