Strictly star Nikita Kuzmin’s brand-new show Midnight Dancer is coming to Leicester’s Curve

By Jess Bourne

Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin will be bringing a fairytale story and world-class dancing to the stage of Curve theatre in Leicester this weekend.

Brand-new show Midnight Dancer follows a classic Cinderella story, as two star-crossed lovers meet and are torn apart. Will Kuzmin reunite with his lost love at the masked ball, or will their story fall short?

Kuzmin won’t be on his own, he has an accomplished cast joining him, including Sophie Baker (Kinky Boots), Thomas Charles (Wicked Tour) and Andreea Toma (Burn The Floor). Alongside the dancers, vocalist Rebecca Lisewski, best known for Mamma Mia! West End, the Spongebob Musical and Cabaret West End.

After leaving Ukraine for Italy at nine years old to follow his career, he became a six-time Champion in Latin and Ballroom dance. Then, in 2021, he landed a coveted spot on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. Over the four series, he has danced with Tilly Ramsey, Ellie Simmonds, Sam Quek and ended up reaching the final with Layton Williams.

He also finished second place on Celebrity Big Brother in 2024, after charming housemates and viewers alike.

Midnight Dancer is Kuzmin’s first-ever solo UK and Ireland tour. It started in Bromley and finishes in Cheltenham and will stop off in Leicester on Sunday for one night.  Remaining tickets start at £34.50 and go up to £62.
