Major refurbishment has just been completed at a gym in the Spinney Hills area of Leicester, bringing with it a new fitness studio and state-of-the-art equipment.

Spence Street Sports Centre was reopened yesterday (WEDNOV2) by City Mayor Peter Soulsby and deputy city mayor for leisure, culture and sport, councillor Piara Singh Clair, after improvement works were completed.

The refurbishment was part of a £1.9m investment scheme that has also seen extensive work take place at other leisure and sports centres across the city, including Aylestone Leisure Centre and Braunstone Leisure Centre.

New facilities at Spence Street include a 50-station gym, a new fitness and exercise studio as well as access to cardiovascular equipment.

Drop-in taster sessions will take place throughout the week, finishing on Saturday, November 5.
