All DMU sports have new committees representing both the sport and the social events this year.
So far this term, women’s football already has double the number of sign-ups than last year.
Club health and safety officer Liberty Leitch said: “I’m so excited for this year. The turnout has been absolutely amazing.
“I can’t wait to see how the team comes together and plays together.”
As well as having a new committee, women’s football also has a new coach. DMU PHD student Annie Taylor has taken over the team after playing on it during her undergraduate years.
Liberty said: “Having a new coach brings on a fresh feeling to the team. Everything is new.”
