Leaders from a cross-party group of the lowest funded councils across the country have banded together to request £300 million from the government.
The campaign, which is being led by the Leicestershire County Council, is demanding the funding as a short-term fix to local government issues in the build-up to Christmas.
The group of councils, known as F20, has written to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities Secretary of State, Michael Gove, to explain the urgent need for the additional funds.
Councils in F20 include the Warrington Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, and Luton Borough Council, among others.
