The NHS Urgent Care Centre at St Luke’s Hospital in Market Harborough has re-opened after a six-month closure due to COVID-19.
To keep health risk to a minimum, patients must pre-book an appointment by calling NHS 111 or contacting their GP.
Dr Avi Prasad, GP and clinical lead for urgent care for the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) told Harborough FM: “During the pandemic, our first priority is to keep our patients and staff safe.
“One way we can do this is by reducing overcrowding in waiting rooms to maintain social distancing, so we are booking patients into timed appointments at the best location for their needs.”
The re-opening is welcome news for local patients, who have been having to travel as far as Kettering or Oadby to receive urgent care.
