Pereira makes Foxes comeback in U23s win

Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira made his long awaited return from injury in an U23s game on Monday (NOV23) evening.

The 27-year-old, who arrived at the club in 2018, tore his ACL in Leicester’s last league game before lockdown in March against Aston Villa.

Pereira played 58 minutes before being withdrawn in Leicester U23’s 2-1 win against West Ham at the King Power Stadium.

The game also provided an opportunity for first-teamers Demarai Gray and Islam Slimani to gain match sharpness, with the England U21 winger scoring both goals for the Foxes’ development side.

Pereira is likely to play in next week’s U23 game against Tottenham Hotspur before aiming to make his return from injury for the first team against Sheffield United on December 5.
